What plan should I choose?

Can I host the fonts on my servers?
Yes, we offer a Self-Hosting option. The minimum license fee for the Self-Hosted plan is based on 2,500,000 pageviews per month. Contact us for more information on our self-hosting custom web font option.
What if I exceed my monthly allocation?
If you exceed your monthly allocation by 25%, we reserve the right to upgrade you to the next plan. If you only exceed it by 20% you won’t receive any extra charge. We will notify you on a monthly basis if/when you use 80% of your allocation, and again at 100%. If your site consistently exceeds the allocation by 20% each month, we will contact you to upgrade to the next service level.
What should I consider when choosing a font?
The Webtype catalog is organized into five categories: Serif, Sans Serif, Script, Decorative, and Sign & Symbol. Webtype also organizes fonts by font size with appropriate size and use recommendations.
- Small fonts - paragraphs - 9px-14px
- Medium fonts - subheads - 14px-48px
- Large fonts - display headings - 48 pixels or more
The annual license fee for each font varies depending on the size of your website (measured in unique visitors/month) and number of website domains the fonts will be used on.
What browsers are supported?
Webtype supports Internet Explorer 5+, Firefox 3.5+, Chrome 2.0+, Safari and Mobile Safari 3.1+ and Opera 10+.
This covers all the popular browsers in Mac and Windows. Webtype also supports mobile devices such as the iPhone, iPod Touch and iPad. We constantly monitor other mobile devices and expect more devices to add support to their mobile browsers in the future. In the meantime, the fallback fonts will display on non-supported browsers.
Note: Fonts display differently across platforms and browsers due to differences in the font rendering software at the OS and application level. Each Webtype font was tested with this in mind.
