Marat, designed by Ludwig Übele, is an elegant and lively typeface with a friendly appearance. Originally conceived as a magazine face, it evolved into a comprehensive family for general use, combining features and qualities of both traditional book faces for body copy and expressive display fonts like the striking Marat Fat. The five core weights are accompanied by charmingly flowing italics which lend themselves to be used on their own. The lighter weights are suitable for sizes down to 10 px. Marat is the perfect companion for Marat Sans, its restrained sans serif relative. LudwigType, 2008
